More than sixty local school children are feeling positive, inspired and confident about their future thanks to a special event at Fazakerley Primary School.
We partnered with Cobalt Housing to bring a Career Carousel event to the school, designed to give children an insight into the world of work and raise their hopes and dreams for the future.
At the event, pupils had the opportunity to explore different career paths by speaking to professionals from organisations who work closely with Cobalt.
Staff from Cobalt, Ecogee, Brabners and The Regenda Group gave up their morning to talk about their career, their organisation and what they do at work.
The partnership aims to support children in Cobalt neighbourhoods and the event was structured around Cobalt’s four key priorities to deliver excellent services:
- A 5-year commitment to Invest in Quality Homes
- Developing Positive People
- Providing Excellent Customer Services
- Supporting Thriving Communities
Last year, our work with Cobalt created over £103,896 in social value for their communities in Liverpool, impacting over fifteen schools and 675 children and young people.
Working with Cobalt is a brilliant example of our partnerships in practice. Our programmes in schools are funded by businesses using their corporate social responsibility budgets to make a difference to the neighbourhoods they operate in.
Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said: “We’ve had a great day opening up the world of work at Fazakerley Primary School. There’s nothing quite like bringing children together to pose their questions to industry professionals!
“The investment Cobalt are making to support children and young people in their communities shows how much they care. This event is part of our continued partnership and our shared belief in investing in children’s future through raising aspirations, and we look forward to future activity together.”
Claire Griffiths, CEO of Cobalt Housing said, “We have worked with Positive Footprints for over five years and we have come to realise the valuable role that Housing providers like us play in developing partnerships with schools. The Raising Aspirations event supports two of our core objectives in our Corporate Plan, encouraging the development of Positive People and supporting the growth of young people in our communities.”
“We are proud of what the children of Fazakerley Primary School have achieved, but also in how their self-confidence and ambition has grown throughout the aspirations programme,” said Claire.
Harper, one of the pupils at the event said: “I’ve loved today learning about lots of different types of jobs. I’ve learned a lot and I want to do a job that lets me help people.”
Thanks to Harper and all the children at Fazakerley Primary School for a great morning!
