Two Burnley companies, the Low Carbon Energy Company and Positive Footprints, are working together to inspire children at a local primary school.
Whittlefield Primary School will deliver Positive Footprints’ award-winning Raising Aspirations Programme to 30 Year 5 children. This follows the success of Low Carbon’s previous work with Rosewood Primary, St Peter’s Primary and Positive Footprints last year with the Futures: Money programme and the Raising Aspirations Programme.
Benedict Ennis, Managing Director at Low Carbon Energy, who support businesses in their journey to a more sustainable future, is eager to begin collaborating with another Burnley school, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Positive Footprints and our own ‘Inspiring Change today that protects Future generation’ programme. It’s really important that the local children in our schools can see the opportunities that exist in our town and if we can play a small part in raising aspirations then we are more than happy to do so.”
Benedict recently took over the role of Managing Director as part of Low Carbon’s succession plan and his journey is a brilliant example for local children.
Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said, “I’m thrilled that Low Carbon Energy is continuing to work with us. We saw the impact they had when they visited Rosewood Primary last year for a career carousel so it’s brilliant we can inspire more children at another Burnley school.”
As part of the Raising Aspirations Programme pupils will learn about skills and qualities as well getting to write their own, age-appropriate, CV. They will also be given opportunities to engage in Career Conversations, live-streamed video events where pupils can engage professionals about the reality of their careers.
