Explore how housing associations are working to raise aspirations, open up the world of work and develop the skills young people need in our communities.
The event will be chaired by Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction and feature guest speakers including: Nigel Wilson, CEO Gentoo Group, Michael Birkett, CEO The Regenda Group and Mrs Jo Woodhall, Headteacher of Hetton Primary School.
Speaking about the event Nigel Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Gentoo Group, said: “There’s nothing more important to our future than investing in our young people and we’re delighted to be able to fund such a worthwhile programme for almost 3,000 children in Sunderland, across 20 schools.
“By developing their confidence and skills through the Positive Footprints programmes, I’ve no doubt they’ll go on to achieve their full potential and future career aspirations.”
The impact our programme is having in schools will be highlighted by Jo Woodhall, Hetton Primary School’s Acting Head Teacher, who said: “We are constantly striving for our children to be the best that they can be. This includes preparing them for life in a culturally diverse society and making real contributions to their community and beyond.
“The Positive Footprints programme is a great recourse that will enable us to deliver our wider curriculum intended to raise our children’s aspirations and give them the confidence to be whatever they want to be in the future.”
