Coming up! Our 2025 Career Conversations

Take a look at the amazing guests we have joining us for Career Conversations this year!

From award-winning authors to sustainability managers, our Career Conversations are designed to create lightbulb moments for children and young people, opening their eyes to the world of work by listening to real career stories from inspirational people.

We are so grateful to the incredible guests that will be joining us this year to help raise aspirations and spark some lightbulb moments of the next generation!

In January, we were joined by Kay Crewsdon, a weather presenter on BBC News North West. Over 2200 pupils joined the Career Conversation online to listen to Kay speak about her career as a weather presenter and what her job entails. We also got an incredible behind the scenes tour of BBC Studios from Kay, showing us a true day in her life!

In February, we were joined by Hari Parekh, a Clinical Psychologist (Pre-Registration) who joined us for Children’s Mental Health Week, to tell us all about his career, working at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. It was great to hear all about resilience and his journey into the profession of clinical psychology.

We have an exciting range of different careers to showcase this year, and we can’t wait for you to join us. Our upcoming 2025 guests include:

Barbara Henderson – Author (5th March 2025)

Barbara is an award-winning author of Scottish historical and eco-fiction for children and has written eleven books. Barbara will be a guest on our #CareerConversation ahead of World Book Day, to tell us all about creative writing and her career as an author.

Ross MacKenzie – Author (6th March 2025)

For World Book Day, we will be joined by Ross, multi-award-winning Scottish author of fantasy and adventure books for children. Ross won the Blue Peter Book Award for his highly acclaimed fantasy novel The Nowhere Emporium and has been writing stories since he was 7 years old. We can’t wait to hear what he has to say!
